Your Leica: Wayne Serrano

Wayne Serrano is a California-based photographer specializing in editorial, corporate, commercial, documentary and photo-journalistic assignments. He also conducts photography workshops, one-to-one photography sessions and leads photo excursion walkabouts throughout San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area.

A look into Wayne’s bag provides a look at what is found to be pretty much his standard equipment setup for most of the types of assignments he undertakes. Although for the most part, the gear has remained little changed, as it suits his photographic style.  He does make adjustments based on assignment requirements to what tools are necessary to achieve the expected results. The three cameras and lenses pictured are what would normally constitute everyday carry gear.

When it comes to photo bags the Domke F-2 and J-2B, Billingham Hadley and Pro’s, Think Tank Multimedia Wired-up and Skins, LowePro Magnum and Ghurka bags regularly see heavy use and of course when required Pelican-case’s.

Wayne regularly shoots Tri-X film even when clients do not request it. “They are always very surprised, surprised and pleased by what they see.” As expected Wayne uses Leica cameras and lenses for his film and digital work as well as the other necessary accoutrements that he has found to be worth carrying. “Leica quality and the outstanding nature of the products have earned my trust as they continue to deliver not only what I demand of them but also that something extra special that I have come to rely on.”
