Review: Leica M-P Titan

Following in the tradition of Leica special edition cameras, the Leica M-P (typ 240) Titanium set is the third titanium set that is made almost completely out of titanium. A successor of the highly sought after M7 and M9 titanium sets the M-P is poised to become one of the most interesting and collectible Typ 240 cameras.

Every so often one of our retail locations will recieve a pre-owned M7 or M9 titanium set,  these sets are equisite, and some of my favorites in the M set varieties to date. They never seem to last long, and I am sure in 5-6 years the M-P Titan set will be among those sets in presige seeing that it's production is less than that of the M9 Titan set.

Featuring a titanium 50mm APO-Summicron-M which is the highest performance reference lens in its class, and the new 28mm Summicron-M ASPH. Both of these lenses have barrels that are finely machined out of aluminum and then finished with anodized titanium.  Both the Titanium body and aluminum lenses make the M-P Titan set significantly lighter to hold than a normal M-P, and respectful lenses. The full grain leather strap and exquisite leather trimmings on the body make the M-P titan both beautifully engineered and refined in design. This comobination is truly magical and both look and feel amazing.

With only 333 total sets in production worldwide the M-P  (Typ 240) Titanium set is truly one of a kind with its combination beautiful design a fine engineering. Reserve one of the last new copies available right now here.

One of my favorite pairings with Leica M-P Titanium is the new bag built by Oberwerth for Leica. It fits the M-P Titan along with both of the accompanied lenses perfectly with room to spare.
