The Leica M-P "Panda Edition" was created to celebrate China's greatest national treasure, the Panda. The "Panda Edition" is a blend of Leica's fine craftsmanship and unprecedented engineering with the Chinese and oriental values of peace concepts, and environmental protection. The Leica M-P "Panda Edition" came in two different configurations. One with a 35mm F1/4 Summilux ASPH and another with a 28mm F2 Summicron ASPH. Both lenses include a removable screw on lens shade made of aluminum. The M-P Typ 240 body is painted in white, and sports black accents and leatherette. On the back of the camera there is an engraving of a Panda bear, and reads underneath "CHENGDU CHINA." Chengdu china is a major city located in the Sichuan Province which is the primary location of China's pandas.
This camera is truly one of a kind and is limited to 30 units of each set. This camera makes an excellent edition to anyone's Leica collection, and will grow in value. This specific camera is not available as it was immediately sold to a collector.
