Introducing the 90mm F2.2 Thambar-M. This is a special reintroduction for Leica. The Thambar was originally introduced in the 1930s and was only made in a limited production of 3000 units.
The Thambar-M holds true to the original counterpart. It will render dreamy bokeh and soft highlights giving images an almost unpredictable and whimsical aesthetic. Of course, the Thambar-M will come fitted with a Leica M mount rather than the screwmount it originally came with when it was introduced 83 years ago in the mid-1930s.
The Thambar-M will feature the same optical makeup and design proportions of the original lens but with a distinctive modern single optical coating and modern improvements to the body. The Thambar-M will also come with an included center filter, hood, cap, and leather case similar to the originally included contents from the 1930 version.
This is a very exciting introduction by Leica, and it might be the perfect lens for you if you are looking for a lens that gives you something a modern ASPH lens simply can't. The Thambar is not built to be clinical but rather just the opposite!
